Students receive well-rounded music education, including repertoire studies and analysis, performance artistry, technical proficiency, sight-reading, ear training, music theory, music history, general musicianship, and much more. Each student follows an individually designed curriculum to suit the needs to improve their musicianship.
Adjudications, such as OMTA Syllabus Exam and WSMTA Music Artistry Programs encourage and challenge students to reach beyond everyday, weekly practice. After successful completion, students receive a certificate and written comments from the adjudicators.
Recitals, festivals, piano duets, ensemble performances, masterclasses, and adjudications are some of the students' performance opportunities throughout the year.
At the festivals and competitions, students who perform period-specific repertoire have opportunities to bring home tangible awards, and it is an excellent opportunity for encouraging and motivating aspiring students.
Masterclasses provide advanced students to receive a special coaching session with a visiting master teacher.
Learning to play in an ensemble setting is a vital part of studying piano. Piano duets, vocal and instrumental ensembles, and other collaborative pianist work are examples of ensemble study.
Students of Debbie Lee have many opportunities to apply for scholarships from various organizations, and they have received several scholarships from organizations such as OMTA, MTACC, and Enspire Arts.
Participation is a vital part of students' musical development and the growth in general musicianship and motivation. These classes offer students opportunities to play in a masterclass setting as well as fun activities to strengthen music theory and general musicianship training.
