All new students and parents are welcome for consultations and observations before registration. All new students and their parents must attend the orientation meeting before registration (an $95/hr fee is required for the teacher’s time).
As “home teachers,” parents are essential to the learning triangle (teacher-parent-student). Please attend lessons with students regularly and supervise daily home practices. Taking notes and audio/video recording lessons are permitted and recommended to help both student and parent recall the previous week’s lesson and the records of progress.
Debbie Lee Piano Studio is a twelve-month, year-round program. During the summer, between June and August, there are summer institutes and programs students may attend. Please check with the teacher for a specific institute if a student is interested/qualified to participate.
Students are expected to attend lessons well-prepared and give their best effort to all instruction. Attitudes eager to learn are expected. Please be on time for your lesson, and tardiness to the lesson is a loss of instruction time. Students' cancellations should be notified to the teacher 24 hours before the lesson. Lessons missed by the student for any reason, including sickness, emergencies, and inclement weather, will not be made up, nor will tuition be refunded. All teacher absences or cancellations due to professional obligations and conferences, teacher illness, or emergencies will be made up. Rescheduled lessons are arranged at a mutually convenient time for the student and the teacher.
Please do not bring sick children to their lessons or arrive ill yourself. The online lesson option is available for sick days if the student desires. Without 24-hour advance notice, missed lessons due to illness will not be made up nor credited.
The studio is on break on national holidays, school spring break and winter break, and teacher conferences/training.
The monthly tuition is based on 42 lessons per year (approximately 36 lessons during the school year and six lessons in the summer). It remains fixed regardless of the number of lessons, including summer months. The tuition includes weekly private lessons, annual registration, and recital fees.
The tuition payment is due in advance by the first of each month. There will be a $25 late fee for tuition not paid by the 10th of the month (No exceptions).
Students are responsible for their primary books and fees for syllabus exams, festivals, competitions, masterclasses, summer institutes, and other events alike.
